Members information Management Committee Meeting Summary – 11th December 2024
Key Updates:
Ogston Lease: Renewal pending due to external consultations. Current lease continues.
AGM Minutes: Feedback on detail level noted. Future minutes will remain concise and decision-focused.
Junior Angling: Collaboration with Angling Trust planned under the co-opted marketing task force.
Recruitment of club management: Volunteer interview panels and board structure review underway.
Membership recruitment,retention and promotion: A task force will be established to focus on recruitment, retention, and promotion- Members will be invited to assist on a co-opted adviser basis.
Social Media Policy: Approved and being rolled out to all role-holders.
Member Conduct: Two members suspended for one month for behavior below club standards.
Site Reports: Appreciation extended to supervisors for valuable monthly water updates.
Other Decisions:
Non-club member shooting license policy under review.
Chesterfield Canal Ranby lease renewed for £300.
Temporary rules for River Dove to be published. Rulebook update expected by April 2025.
Retrospective rewards approved for exceptional contributions, subject to committee review.
Club Fishing Rules. OBJECTIVE- The rules have evolved ad hoc over 65 years, we wish to ensure they are relevant, concise, consistent and balance member enjoyment with fish welfare. We will be consulting outside the current management teams to help ensure objectivity.
Next Steps:
Ongoing recruitment process.
Review of structure and roles within the board. OBJECTIVE- more efficient light touch management with greater member input assisting decision making.
Continued development of club policies and member engagement initiatives.
